La Presa vineyard, which sits on the edge of the Santa Ynez River, is one of the lowest points in the Santa Ynez Valley allowing the fog to provide cool breezes and lower temperatures, creating higher acidity and fresh flavors. This years Sauvignon Blanc is a 50/50 blend of 23 year old own rooted Nelson clone and clone #1. The Nelson clone provides depth while clone #1 provides bright tropical flavors and aromas. The wine was cold fermented in stainless steel using a yeast bred in New Zealand for its high thiol production creating bright tropical aromas of passion fruit. After a long primary fermentation in stainless the wine was barreled down to neutral French oak for more complexity and body. Tasting Notes: Bright aromas of passion fruit, lychee and melon along with perfumed aromas of sandalwood and lemon. Upfront flavors of pineapple, star fruit and lemon lead the way to a textured core of mineral, spice, lychee and lemon curd finishing fresh and juicy. Only 125 cases produced Great wine for the holidays and simply amazing with seafood
