2019 Buona Terra
66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Petit Verdot
Buona Terra has always been made to honor the amazing farming of John and Ivan Belfy of Buona Terra Farming. They are responsible for farming vast majority my amazing fruit I am proud to make into wine each year. Sourced from the incredible Stag Canyon Vineyard located on the eastern edge of Santa Ynez Valley with its tight spacing and rocky alluvial soils, this pristine vineyard is perfect for growing world class Bordeaux varietals. The grapes were cofermented using native yeast to express the terroir of this amazing sight. Then the grapes were gently basket pressed and aged on lees for three years in French and American oak prior to bottling.
Deep, dark aromas of blackberry, mulberry, and dark plum, along with aromas of sandalwood, dark chocolate, blue smoke, cedar, and spice. Bold flavors are echoed in the mouth rich plum, blackberry, and mulberry giving way to and intense core filled with dark chocolate, leather, blueberry, and Kona coffee, finishing with long rich tannins. 100 cases produced.
