2016 Hapa Blanc
50% Roussanne 17% Viognier 17% Sauvignon Blanc 8% Grenache Blanc 8% Riesling
The 2016 Hapa Blanc is like no other that I have ever made. The Roussanne, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Grenache Blanc come from La Presa vineyard and the Viognier from Tierra Alta’s limestone laden slopes. The wine is a combination of neutral barrel and stainless steel depending on the varietal. The wine was aged for 11 months on lees prior to bottling in August.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of pear, golden apple and ripe pineapple along with orange blossom, spice and mineral. Flavors of pineapple, pear and honeydew melon give way to a lush core of lemon curd, prickly pear and mineral, finishing lush and crisp with a hint of white tannin. This wine will age amazingly should you put some aside, or drink now with spicy Asian and lighter fishes.
