2019 Cabernet Franc

I am thrilled to bring back Cabernet Franc to Kaena as it was one of the three original wines I made in my first vintage of 2001. Cabernet Franc was actually my first love of red wine when I first tasted it at Turn Bull winery in Napa in 1996. It was the 1st red wine I tasted on my fateful trip that draw me from Hawaii and would lead to a career in winemaking.  

Tasting Notes:

Bright aromas of currant, blackberry, and olallieberry along with scents of sandalwood, cinnamon, graphite, and white pepper. Bright flavors of currant, raspberry, and plum give way to a complex core of cherry, dark chocolate, cinnamon and sarsaparilla, finishing long with tight tannins that last. Age for 5-12 years.
