2019 Reserve Malbec
Our Malbec hails from the eastern fringes of Santa Ynez, within the Los Olivos District AVA, known for its exceptionally stony soil and dense vine planting — ideal conditions for cultivating premium Bordeaux varieties. It has been matured for three years in mostly seasoned French Oak barrels, with a small fraction of new wood to add complexity. This wine is a homage to the Malbecs I admire from Argentina.
Tasting Notes
Upon tasting, you'll be greeted with a deep, smoky essence. Let the wine breathe after opening, and you'll discover a bouquet filled with notes of tobacco, the outer layer of dark plums, and dark chocolate. On the palate, indulge in the rich flavors of dark plums, concentrated cherry syrup, roasted coffee beans, and dark chocolate. The wine's smooth tannins and lively acidity create a harmonious match for robust flavors.
